Inkster unlikely to play in first U.S. Women’s Open held in California in her pro career

SAN FRANCISCO >> Juli Inkster, the most iconic female golfer the Bay Area has produced, waited her entire career for the America Women’s Open to be played in her backyard. Alas, now that one will finally be staged here, she’s saying for now that she’s not going to play in it.

Nontheless, despite being one of 2 golfers on hand at AT&T Park Mon to help promote the America Women’s Open event to be contested at CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin Jul 4-10, Inkster stated it’s highly not likely she’ll play at age 55 even though she is not officially retired, noting that her broadcasting duties with FOX Sports present a conflict.
